For as long as I can remember I have been drawn to creative self expression. On a bad day it seems a futile attempt at immortality, a self serving effort to make some mark, my worth measured by the work.
But on a good day it is the best I have to offer. Ideas that come only to me, through my hands, are made accessible to others. And sometimes a common chord is struck, the work contains something universal, and has meaning to someone else just as it did to me.
Although I have sold some work it has never been my profession. At times it has been a point of conflict, wishing I had more time for what I love to do. But doing it for money is a large tradeoff. Doing it for its own sake gives me the freedom to explore whatever comes to mind without need to consider monetary profit.
