I started doing photography in Junior High, my first foray into the arts and an escape from early adolescence. Ours was not an art conscious household so this was new territory. But photography is a good place to start. If not artful, ones early efforts can at least be pleasing.

With coaching from a friend I set up a dark room, bought Peterson's Photographic, admired the work of Ansel Adams, Jerry Ulesmann, Edward Weston, and spent all my newspaper money on the hobby.

And it has just stayed with me. Not in a big way, but in a way that always has me looking for "the shot' whether I have a camera or not.
